Saturn in Pisces Millennials

Finally, we make it to the youngest of the Pluto in Scorpio generation, the folks born with Saturn in Pisces. This is one of the most compassionate groups of young people as a whole. Saturn entered Pisces for a short amount of time in late May 1993 until the end of June 1993, sitting at 0º of the sign for just under six weeks. It finally entered Pisces for an extended stay at the end of January 1994 to stay there until early April 1996. It’s worth it to note that Pluto entered Sagittarius in November of 1995, so about 6 months’ worth of this sub-generation would be considered Gen Z (based on the way I personally divide generations). Some of these folks also have Uranus in Aquarius, which is a signature I’d also attribute to Gen Z, so a sizable chunk of this sub-gen are an eclectic mix of Millennial and Gen Z, which is often referred to as a Zennial (as opposed to Xennials born in the early 1980s).

Saturn in Pisces is a little difficult to talk about, as the language of boundaries, limitations, and responsibilities seems averse to the character of Pisces; a sign having to do with boundlessness, expansion, and liminality. How do you create structure in the ocean? How do you bind that which doesn’t take form? These paradoxes end up holding the deepest gifts about this sub-generation.

I was speaking with a group of astrologers earlier this spring about Saturn in Pisces, and something that came up was that the rules of the sea are different than the rules of the land, but there are rules nonetheless. In order to survive being out at sea, one must abide by a strict set of regulations and there is daily upkeep to the vessel and the body, but again, these are things you wouldn’t even consider being on land. So when thinking about Saturn in Pisces, it’s important to recognize that Saturn functions differently than it does in its domicile, which almost half of the Millennial generation has.

Saturn in Pisces finds themselves in continuous moments of surrender and sacrifice while trying to learn how to navigate the rocky ocean of life. While life almost never feels stable nowadays, Saturn in Pisces folks are often dealing with seasickness from the ups and downs thrown their way as they do their best to be functioning adults in this wild world we live in. Their foundation is rooted in a fundamental understanding that compassion for others is a given but without a firm understanding of how to dole out that compassion in a way that doesn’t leave them depleted of their psychic, emotional, and physical energy. They may never feel that they do enough, as the weight of responsibility toward assisting in the healing of the planet sits heavy on their shoulders. Their capacity to feel can often feel like the biggest burden, although so many of them are beginning to recognize that it’s also their greatest gift.

To speak on this sub-generation, it might be helpful to speak on the signs that Jupiter moved through during the time that Saturn was in Pisces. Jupiter traveled through Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn during this period of time, and I believe that these mini-generations within this sub-generation are distinct in and of themselves. Jupiter is the ruling planet of the sign Pisces, and therefore had a great amount of influence on the way that Saturn manifested during its time in Pisces. Jupiter was in Capricorn while Saturn was in Pisces for just 3 months in 1996, and at that point, Pluto was in Sagittarius, so I won’t speak on this group, just as an FYI.

The Saturn in Pisces group with Jupiter in Scorpio are especially notable to me, maybe because I’m a Scorpio, and maybe because my younger sister is a part of this mini-gen. Not only was Jupiter in Scorpio, but so was Pluto, and the North Node. These folks are so watery! This group in particular has a depth of compassion that feels unique to them. They simply just want to heal others! The combination of Saturn in Pisces with Jupiter, Pluto and the North Node in Scorpio breeds a highly sensitive group of people, who tend to pick up on the pain and grief of the collective. So many of them have felt the call to tend to the wounds of the world, whether it be helping folks heal their emotional traumas, or standing up for environmental justice, especially after their 2nd Jupiter returns in 2018. It’s important this group works on their own healing process while they learn how to use their gifts on others. I think a lot of these folks feel so strongly about answering the call to help aid others that they often neglect their own needs. The compulsion to sacrifice the self is prominent in this group, so that must be heeded.

The Saturn in Pisces group with Jupiter in Sagittarius might be a little more bold and outspoken than the later group. These folks are the young philosophers of the world. They are super observant, and really internalize global pain but process it more through their minds. They are focused on using the information they ingest to develop ethical solutions to the world’s problems. There’s an articulate quality to this group, as they understand the power of language and messaging, and have a keen sense of the ways one can use the internet to disseminate information for good, and for evil. You do NOT want to get into a Twitter beef with these folks because they have the passion, the eloquence and the receipts readily available for battle.

While Saturn in Pisces has about two and a half years until their Saturn returns officially begin, in March 2023, they are in an ongoing process of awakening to their abilities. At 25 they begin to learn what resources they have to offer in the building of a New World. At 26 they begin to pour themselves into ingesting and disseminating information and honing their unique skills. At 27 they must allow themselves to find some grounding, to tap into their roots, and honor the pivots life takes them in. Before they know it, their returns will come. I think Saturn in Pisces will learn about boundaries in a way they didn’t know possible. While their Saturns inch toward a completion of one full revolution around the zodiac, their foundations might feel flimsy and not fully realized, and that’s OK! The Saturn return will provide them the final set of tools they need to build their vessel and keep it secure. They will learn how to slow down, truly slowww down, and take care of themselves so that they no longer continue to pour from empty cups. They’ll learn that their boundaries and structures might not look like those of the rest of the millennial generation and that’s OK.

Saturn in Pisces friends, I want you to know that you don’t have to carry the grief of the entire world in your body. You can release that back into the Earth so that you yourself can heal as well. You also don’t have to have all of the answers right now, and know that it’s perfectly normal that you don’t. Saturn in Aquarius will do a good job of preparing you for your Saturn return, in that it will show you the ways that community can hold you and help you replenish your energy while doing the work of building a New World. We’re all in this together, and we older Millennials have your back.

If you feel called to dive deeper in a session with me, I am now offering Saturn Return Readings to unpack the underlying themes of your Saturn return and discuss how to prepare for the years to come. You can schedule a reading by clicking below.
